they dont charge monnthly fees to pay for servers, or charge for updates, so they have to keep making money somehow, otherwise they couldnt pay for servers

Four characters is more then enough, infact, I only use one at a time . I have three filled, and one for a pvp character. I've never had a problem.

4 people is a good limit. It keeps problems that would arise from unlimited accounts (scammers, spammers, etc.) to a minimum and also minimizes the sheer amount of information they have to store for each account. I remember reading on here someone's math analysis dealing with this. Basically X # of people playing GW x Y # of characters per person..... it adds up very quickly.

I really don't feel it's sufficient, ESPECIALLY now that they on one hand make getting skill points easier, but on the other it is a LOT more expensive to nab skills.
So you need 3 PvE characters across all 6 classes to do a good job of unlocking. Make sure you plan that right.. :b and that's 3 slots there. One for PvP (which you need to always blow away/remake, ie no room to keep it and become known) I think 4 PvE characters at least would be better and then 2 slots PvP. I've had to chop/remake/rethink my PvEs several times due to the limit. And this really doesn't allow enough slots for another to get into the game and want their own (allowed the wife a slot to try, eventually I took it over tho as she didnt dive in, meanwhile would have been nice to leave out there to see if I could have brought her over to the GW side - another game sale for them if so). It's just a shame for a game with SOOOO many options you are so limited in # of character slots. Being used to MMORPGs AND Diablo2, both have a lot more slots and don't have another type of charcacter (PvP) vying for the few slots you have. CKaz |
